My Story

Meet Taquito, a sweet little 16 pound Shih Tzu mix who is hoping his next chapter is the best one yet. Named Taquito because he arrived around Cinco de Mayo, this charming senior found himself in an unfortunate situation when he was discovered wandering all alone. For a small older dog, the world can be a big and scary place, but Taquito never lost his gentle spirit. Estimated to be 8 to 10 years old, Taquito is looking for a home where he can enjoy all the comforts he deserves. He's past the puppy chaos and all about the simple pleasures in life: a cozy bed, a leisurely stroll, a good meal, and a person to adore. Like many senior dogs, Taquito has a few minor health concerns, but thanks to our Continuing Care Program, we're hoping that won't stop someone from giving this lovable little guy a chance. What he lacks in youth, he more than makes up for in sweetness, gratitude, and companionship. Taquito has likely spent enough time taking care of himself. Now he's searching for someone who will take care of him. In return, he'll gladly fill your days with quiet company, unconditional love, and the kind of loyalty only a senior dog can offer. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only.
